But, why?

Oct 10th, 2025

Recently, a friend asked me why I was involved in a Sustainability Program targeted at Primary Schools, this really surprised me because as I thought it self-evident.

Personally, I believe that if we don’t educate and inspire the next generation, in terms of sustainable behaviours, the battle against climate-change will probably be lost. We are also preparing the next generation for employment in Industries that haven’t yet been thought about, let alone developed! How do we do that? One certainty is that sustainability will be central to our way of life, future jobs, business opportunities, university studies; sustainability will co-exist with opportunity.

So many times we hear about the challenge of climate-change, looking ahead, you have to ask are we adequately preparing the next generation? If it’s such a big deal, are we serious about it?

Separate to the issue of educating the next generation is the issue of helping schools reduce resource usage. Changes in behaviour can have an enormous impact on resource usage and running costs.

The Sustainability Cup is a unique program designed to equip the next generation and at the same help schools manage budgets. If you would like to see the next generation in action checkout Greythorn Sustainability Cup Page and see why we built the Sustainability Cup.
